Yoga Mats for Beginners
For beginners doing yoga for the first time, we recommend choosing at least 4 mm thick yoga mats to provide enough softness for the joints. Whether you have decided on Power Yoga, Ashtanga Yoga, Iyengar Yoga or Pilates, it is good to check the exercise prior and choose the exercise mat accordingly.
We recommend yoga mats with a better anti-slip layer; for slower exercises like Pilates or rehabilitation, thicker ones. Bodish's Rishikesh, Asana and LotusPro models are popular choices of yoga mats for beginners. Rishikesh mats can even be washed.

How to clean an exercise mat
It is recommended to clean the mat thoroughly before first use after choosing a proper mat cleaner for regular maintenance. We have prepared a series of „How to clean“ for individual types of mat materials.
A carrying bag or carrying strap will make your day if needed. If you feel the yoga or gymnastic mat slip or it seems cold, the option could be to put a towel on the mat.
